Teach Your Monster Practice Mode
For easy quick play in the classroom; working as a whole class activity OR brushing up on a particular grapheme or number, two of our games have Practice Mode!
To access practice mode on the web, simply go to the game you wish to play and click the big pink 'Practice' button in the top right-hand corner.

Teach Your Monster to Read - Practice Mode
Want to spend a little more time on specific letter sounds? Then check out Practice Mode. You can find loads of mini games to choose from.
- Sighties - for kids to quickly identify sight words
- Minigames - practise specific GPCs in a variety of letter-sound matching/blending and segmenting games
- Flashcards - to practise all GPCs with images
Sighties
A Sighties hide and seek game! Sight words are read out and the matching word must be clicked before time runs out. This game gets children responding quickly to those sight words.
Minigames
All the minigames from the main adventure is instantly playable with any grapheme you choose. This is the perfect way to consolidate students learning.
Flashcards
Like physical flashcards, select the graphemes you'd like your class to practise.
Once selected, clicking the speaker icon reads out the letter sounds and associated words to your class.
Move onto the next grapheme by selecting the tick mark.
Teach Your Monster Number Skills - Practice Mode
Want to spend more time on a specific game, number or skill? Then go to Practice Mode in Number Skills.
Select your player - we suggest making a 'Teacher' player for whole class activities.
Select what you'd like to practice: Skill, Number or Game.
Skill
Choose a skill you'd like to practice with the class from the list.
Select a number range to focus on.
Practice Mode will then show you which games are available to practise that skill and number.
Number
Choosing Number will show you a menu of numbers ranging from 1 - 50 (remember to click on the right orange arrow button to find the higher numbers)
Then Practice Mode will show you the mini games available to practise that number.
Game
Selecting 'Game' from Practice mode will show you all the games available to play. Select the number range you'd like to practise from the following menu.
Teach Your Monster Adventurous Eating - Practice Mode
This mode allows you to select particular fruit or vegetables, and interact with them using the monster's senses. Designed to allow the adult to select a specific food, Practice Mode allows the child to interact with that food through the game, making them a little bit braver with it.
Click practice mode and select your player.
Choose between 'Food' or 'Disco'.
Food
'Food' allows you to select one of the 40 fruits or vegetables available in Adventurous Eating.
Then you choose one of the senses to explore that food with.
Disco
'Disco' allows you to select one of the 40 fruits or vegetables available in Adventurous Eating...
and hear the disco song from the game for that food.
